On July 29, 2023, the Muskrat Watershed Council (MWC) held its Annual General Meeting. The meeting covered highlights from projects and initiatives that MWC has worked on over the past year. The township of Whitewater Region councillor, Chris Olmstead, spoke on behalf of mayor Neil Nicholson. Special guest speakers included Lisa Browning of the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, who gave a virtual tour of the centre’s facilities, and Robyn Cunningham, who provided an overview of the Pembroke Area Field Naturalists.

Many meeting attendees enjoyed reading our 2023 Annual Newsletter while they munched on a cookie, brownie, or mini muffin.

There was a positive turnout of people from the community, and many energetic conversations were sparked afterwards. There was indeed an excited buzz in the room.

MWC has shared some photos from the Annual General Meeting and encourages you to check out their 2023 Annual Newsletter posted in the publications section.
